Charlestown Cities Round 1.

The mighty CC's played their first game of the Newcastle indoor super
league.

We first matched up with Howzat 1st team and we drew 24 all. To say
this was a good start well hmmm. Rach, gav and myself all shot under
40%.

Game 2 was against the 2nd Howzat team and we got up by 20 odd goals
thanks to Erin and Jimmies shooting.

Some highlights :

- our coach turning up very hung over. Bad food indeed.
- gav's airball replay move.

Oh well till nov 2nd.

Nationals 2008 Round Up.

In a all too familiar finish to nationals, we bowed out in the semis to finish 4th.

We showed glimpses during the week of what we can do (a draw with QLD and SA), but with a crucial injury to Big Dog and some very interesting calls and scoring during the week put us on the back foot and we couldn't get over the line in the semi going down by 11 to SA.

But even though the results were not the best the bunch of guys was prob the best ever assembled for NSW. On the court and off the court it was a blast and good way to finish indoor nationals :)

Luckily enough for me i was selected to the Aussie mens team to tour NZ next year, that looks like a good way to finish the netball career ? :)

Check out Big Dog getting carried away :)

Oh.. the pain!

Firstly I would lust like to put it out there.. so that we are all on the same page.. I do NOT do manual labour. I am not a nerdy guy or a weakling. I am however slightly pretty and because of this, I don't like to get dirty. Sweaty i can handle because it usually involves fitness or sport or a combination of the two. But sweaty and dirty? Unless I'm wrestling a Playboy Bunny in a pool of mud, then no thanks!

So needless to say, it was with great joy that I rolled into Kennards Hire this morning at 7am. Told the guy our reservation details and waited with glee while he processed whatever it was that he had to process. I signed the papers then went outside to tell the guy that we didn't need the trailer he was trying to put the Dingo digger onto because we had a truck. No dice. No ramp to get the digger onto the back of the truck. No tow bar on the truck. No luck for me! So for the extra cost, we hired a ute from Kennards and finally got the mission underway.

Now for all of you out there who aren't married or in a relationship and think that landscaping with your wife or lady friend will be a fun and rewarding exercise... Oh sweet baby Jesus think again! It is in fact the polar opposite of fun! Now what I mean by this is, to put it simply, DON'T DO IT! Get a mate over, your dad, uncle or neighbour (as long as he is a he of course) and use testosterone to fix/dig/move anything that needs fixing/digging/moving. Let the lady stay inside or go shopping. If she asks if any help is required then the correct response is 'If you could please get us a couple of cold drinks, then that would be all the help in the world sweet heart'. First (and only) rule would then be to stop working until she has gone back inside or left. Otherwise you are leaving yourself wide open for the female expertise to rear its ugly head! 'How come your digging there? Wouldn't it be easier to dig there? Is that hole supposed to be that close to that pipe? Isn't that dangerous? Should the machine be making that noise? I don't think that's a nice noise. Maybe you broke something'. Trust me. Its easier when they're not around!

Anyway, my digging got dug. My holes got holed. So i guess it was a successful day. Now I only have about 17 more of these days to look forward to.
